Calling to check on the status of your renewal application?  The IRS asks you to allow 60 days for processing of a renewal before calling to check on the status.

Enrolled Agent Change of Address or Proof of CE Credits

Contact the IRS by mail or fax if:

  • Your contact information has changed since the time of your last renewal or
  • You have been asked to provide proof of CE credits, usually due to a CE audit or to reactivate your license

Enrolled Agent Account Information Change in PTIN system

In addition to changing your name and/or account information with the EA office, you must also change your information in the PTIN system.

Account information (email, address etc) can be changed online by logging into your PTIN account.

Name change requests can be submitted:

  • online through your online PTIN account or
  • in writing

along with a copy of documentation supporting the change. (Acceptable documents are listed on the IRS website.)
